Shailesh Lodha, a popular actor and comedian known for his role as Taarak Mehta in the popular Indian sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), filed a complaint against Asit Modi’s production company, Neela Telefilms. Lodha has sued the production company for alleged non-payment of fees and breach of contract. For the inexperienced, Shailesh stepped down in 2022 after being an integral part of TMKOC for 14 years. Lodha has reportedly been waiting for more than six months to settle his dues of more than a year. According to the latest rumors, Shailesh has decided to take the legal route.

According to a Hindustan Times report, in the first week of March, Shailesh Lodha filed a complaint against Asit Modi’s production company for non-payment of his dues and filed a lawsuit. Due to Modi’s inability to settle her debts, Lodha approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and commenced a section 9 corporate insolvency resolution. The case is scheduled to be heard in May.
When the portal reached out to Lodha for a comment on the same, Waah host Bhai Waah stated, “The matter is subjudice and under the courts, so I will not comment on this.” Meanwhile, the report also quoted Sohil Ramani, TMKOC project manager, as saying: “There isn’t much to say that hasn’t been said before. Shailesh Lodha has been just like a family. When he left we respected that. And on numerous occasions through email and phone we have asked you to come into the office to sign all the required documents and take your remaining enumeration.”
On the show, Lodha was last seen in April of last year. A couple of months after her departure, actor Sachin Shroff replaced Shailesh.
