A ten-year-old girl was killed, and five adults were injured in a collision between their Toyota Avanza and a delivery truck at the intersection of Poplar and Progress roads in Lindhaven, Krugersdorp, on Sunday evening.
THREE PEOPLE FROM THE TRUCK ALLEGEDLY FLED THE SCENE
According to ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell said two of the five adults were seriously injured.
“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 19:51 along with the Community Police and another private emergency service.
“Most of the adults from the Avanza had self-extricated. The child was found still in the vehicle showing no signs of life.”
He said nothing could be done for her, and she was unfortunately declared dead on arrival.
“Two adult males believed to be in their 20s had suffered serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support interventions before being transported to a hospital.
“One female believe to be in her 30s had suffered moderate injuries and was also treated and transported by ER24 to the hospital. Two further adult males had suffered minor injuries and were treated and transported by the other service on scene.”
Campbell said three people from the truck allegedly fled the scene. The Metro police were on the scene for investigations.
Meanwhile, a five-year-old boy has suffered critical injuries, and a 31-year-old woman had moderate injuries in a single-vehicle rollover on the R550 near Sky City in Vereeniging on Sunday morning.
Campbell said paramedics arrived on the scene at 11:09 along with the Ekurhuleni Fire Department.
“The light motor vehicle was 5 to 10 meters from the road and the two injured occupants had been ejected from the vehicle and were lying on the ground.
“The driver of the vehicle was found uninjured, but the five-year-old boy was in a critical condition and required Advanced Life Support interventions before being flown by medical helicopter to a private hospital for further care.”
