Businessman Peter Matsimbe, partner and father of socialite Ayanda Thabethe, is reportedly facing fraud charges that have resulted in a warrant for his arrest.
city press reports that at the center of the fraud allegations are 10 luxury cars that disappeared while in their possession.

The publication reports that court documents filed in August 2019 reveal that Matsimbe used false documents to receive funds from the bank to purchase luxury vehicles from various dealerships. He reportedly did this through his company called Matsimbe and Co.
Some of the cars purchased include a Toyota Hilux, Toyota Land Cruiser, Lexus SUV, Lexus LX, Mclaren MP4 coupe, BMW X5 SUV, Can-Am Maverick, Audi Q3, a Nissan Navara, and a Volvo Mechanical Horse.

In 2019 Standard Bank allegedly received a court judgment to repossess the Matsimbe cars which it reportedly ignored. This resulted in the bank obtaining a contempt of court arrest warrant against Matsimbe.
According city press, the order ordered Matsimbe to be arrested for 30 days. However, only two cars were recovered; the Mclaren and the Volvo.
Matsimbe’s brother Richard was reportedly embroiled in a similar scandal in which he obtained a R22 million loan from businessman Jacobus Jansen for two luxury cars.

BABY ON BOARD?
News of Matsimbe’s fraud allegations comes a few days later they are the same reported that Ayanda Thabethe is expecting her second child. He celebrity game night The team captain became a mother for the first time a little over a year ago.
Shortly after the announcement of her first baby, claims began to circulate that Matsimbe was a cheating husband. However, in a joint statement, the couple played down the rumors.

“We make this statement on behalf of Ms. Ayanda Thabethe, who is supported by her partner, known as ‘PM’.
“The rumor that Thabethe is in a relationship with a married man is not true and we have not been provided with any evidence to the contrary. PM is not in any marriage or union recognized by law,” read part of the statement.
