According to a report from German outlet Kicker (captured by @iMIaSanMia), Müller’s current situation as a deep reserve is unlikely to change any time soon under coach Thomas Tuchel:

Thomas Müller’s minutes and importance on the field are decreasing, the 34-year-old constantly starts on the bench and is not even a first offensive option, behind Mathys Tel and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. Müller’s situation is unlikely to change any time soon under Thomas Tuchel. With a contract expiring in the summer of 2024, Müller’s future remains uncertain.

Müller has been injured, but during his time on the field, the veteran appears to have plenty of gas left in the tank. Being relegated to the bench will surely not sit well with Müller, but Tuchel is looking to leave his own mark on the team. If Müller really is an afterthought, Leon Goretzka and Matthijs de Ligt (two other players rumored to be in Tuchel’s sights) could simply take a look at the Space interpreter on the bench and see their respective futures.
