In February 2024, the Centre for the Study of Organised Hate published a data-driven report titled, “Report 2024: Hate Speech Events in India”, analysing the rise of verified hate speech events targeting religious minorities in India throughout 2024.

Political rallies, electoral campaign events, religious processions, protest marches, and cultural nationalist gatherings have increasingly become platforms for hate speech—often aimed at harassing minorities.
