If you’re looking for a pretty town to enjoy this summer, there’s one that should be on your list. Filled with independent shops, quaint streets to explore, you won’t get bored in Narberth.
The colourful town in Pembrokeshire is a hub for shopping and dining, while also offering stunning surrounding scenery. Whether you’re looking for an active weekend with plenty of walks and hikes or a more relaxing weekend with cafes and pubs, there’s something for everyone in this town.
Visit Wales says: “One great thing about Narberth is that you don’t have to jump in a car to find the countryside.
“It’s quite literally on your doorstep. Footpaths lead out from the town, taking you along flourishing hedgerows and into tranquil woodlands.”
It says you can head to the Town Moor car park and take the footpath down Carding Mill Lane, where you’ll soon find the calm woods.
From there, you can continue into Canaston Woods and further still to Minwear Forest along the banks of the Cleddau River.
Visit Pembrokeshire says the town is “charming” and that it has a huge range of independent shops to explore.
You can find a range of “exquisite” items from fine art to fine food rub shoulders with vintage and antique shops, it adds.
If you’re wondering how to reach Narberth, it has a railway station about a mile outside of town and is well connected to Haverfordwest, Tenby, Cardigan and Carmarthen.
For any history lovers, there’s also the Narberth Museum which makes for a fascinating visit.
One person who visited on Tripadvisor said: “We’ve been visiting Narberth for a number of years, but had never visited the museum, so this time we made sure we did.
“Well laid out, very informative and with a lovely little cafe and book shop, with both new and second hand books. Worth a visit if you’re in the area and suitable for children!”
