The R8.9m LOTTO PLUS 2 jackpot winner is somewhere in Garies

National Lottery Operator, Ithuba, announced that the lucky player who struck the R8.9 million LOTTO PLUS 2 jackpot on Wednesday night, 10 August, hails from a town in the Northern Cape.

Ithuba described the winner’s area, Garies, as a “small agricultural town” in the Northern Cape. The winning ticket was purchased at an OK Grocer. Lotto players in the area are encouraged to check their tickets and approach the provincial office to process their winnings.

“We congratulate our latest winner, as they have won an amount above R50 000, we will support them through a team of financial advisors and psychologists, who will debrief him or her.

“Winning large amounts of money may cause a form of trauma or shock, as for our financial advisors, they are there to guide our winners and advise them of the different investment portfolios or opportunities,” said the lottery operator’s CEO, Charmaine Mabuza.

The winning LOTTO PLUS 2 numbers on Wednesday were – 21, 24, 26, 30, 36, 39 and Bonus Ball – 01.

Meanwhile, Friday night’s PowerBall jackpot will be worth an estimated R36 million and the LOTTO jackpot on Saturday, 13 August, will be worth a whopping R61 million.
