TikTok has become a video giant in the past few years, with many people taking to the platform to make all types of creative, short-form content.

Although the social media platform was originally known to be a place for youngsters performing trending dance routines, lockdown saw the app grow in popularity enormously.

Everyone from artists to hairdressers, independent shop owners, restauranteurs and more have begun creating TikTok content to expand their brand – and it seems to work.

A comparethemarket.com study found that TikTok users tend to be active on the platform in the late evening, from 9pm onwards.

It’s worth trying to post around this time, to help ensure your content is getting optimum reach.

As with most social media platforms, to keep your followers engaged, you’ll need to post regularly.

Each time you post, followers can learn more about you and your content, plus it gives TikTok the chance to work out your target audience and who to push more of your content to.

It’s also worth keeping updated with TikTok trends. The good thing is that TikTok has a notification centre that actually tells you what is trending.

This makes it easier for you to hop on trending sounds, hashtags, and even filters, to create content tailored to your audience.

There are a variety of creative features on TikTok, and it’s wise to use them if you want to get your content noticed.

For example, stitching is a good way of creating collaborative content as you are using content from other creators, but also making it unique by adding your own original spin on things.

Speaking of collaboration, following other people who are within your niche or who create similar TikToks to you, can be a good way to pique interest.

They could then potentially follow you back if they enjoy your content, too.

As these guides are created by TikTok, you can rest assured that the tips are well-informed and designed to help you.

You can find the creator portal by visiting your profile in the TikTok app and clicking the menu at the top right corner.

Once you’ve done this, click ‘creator tools’ and then ‘creator portal’. This will take you to a page full of guides to help you grow on TikTok.
