Bayern Munich has reached an agreement with tottenham hotspur to sign harry kaneindicate sources in Germany.
A proposal from the bundesliga side, believed to be worth more than €100 million (£86.4 million, $110 million), was accepted by his Premier league counterparts on Wednesday.
Kane must now decide whether or not to make the move.
The 30-year-old wanted the situation resolved before Tottenham’s season opener at Brentford on Sunday.
He is known to enjoy life with new Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou and has been inclined to stay.
But it is not clear how the striker will react to this development.
Kane is in the last 12 months of his contract and Tottenham want to bind him to new terms.
There has been no progress on the matter so far, prompting the club to consider selling his talisman in the current transfer window rather than risk losing him as a free agent next summer.
Follow the summer transfer window with the athletic…
the athletic reported on Tuesday that the clubs kept their distance in their assessment of the England captain after further transfer talks on Monday night.
Bayern had seen three offers for Kane rejected, the first made in June, but they have since made a breakthrough after raising the offer.
Kane is reluctant to embark on a transfer once the 2023-24 campaign begins and has been heartened by Postecoglou’s early impact.
He played a full role in Tottenham’s summer tour to Australia and Singapore before scoring four goals in a 5-1 home win against Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday.
Postecoglou admitted after that game that he was in an “open dialogue” with Kane and the club about a possible trade, but warned of the need for a result soon for the good of all parties.
Kane’s options analyzed: leave now, leave next summer, sign a new contract?
Analysis by Tottenham correspondent Tim Spiers
Bayern want Kane and it seems that Kane wants to move to Bayern. The talks would not have lasted as long if the striker had not expressed a strong interest in joining the perennial German champions. It has been believed all summer that Kane has no interest in entering negotiations to join any other side of this window.
As far as personal terms are concerned, the athletic has previously reported that Bayern will offer Kane an all-in £25m per season, the equivalent of £480,000 a week, which would more than double his current base salary, so no problem.
In Bayern’s favor is Kane’s contractual situation. He currently can leave them as a free agent next summer, which at this point feels like the worst case scenario for the Premier League club, certainly from a financial if not a footballing perspective.
If all these pushes come to nothing, Tottenham can surely still hope that a motivated and committed Kane will give his all for the club in the final year of his contract.
It is said to be enjoying training with new coach Ange Postecoglouthat he will adopt a much more offensive and expansive style than his predecessor Antonio Conte did in the two previous seasons.
Despite the tactics, Kane still managed 30 Premier League goals, their joint best total in 11 seasons playing in the division, but was unable to lift a scruffy team past eighth in the final table. That means there will be no European football for Spurs this season, which is likely a key factor in his flirting with a departure from his boyhood club. There is hope that with new additions, including his England colleague james madison and central mickey van devenTottenham have reason to be optimistic about the upcoming campaign.
While Kane is only open to speaking to Bayern in this window, he would have a long list of suitors in 2024. These could include real Madriddepending on the status of your search for kylian mbappeParis Saint-Germain, who have sniffed at English this summer, other Premier League clubs and almost certainly those from Saudi Arabia are also interested.
Kane signing a new contract seems like the least likely scenario, but it can’t be ruled out given how much the Spurs mean to Kane.
He may have become their record goalscorer last season, surpassing the late, great Jimmy Greaves, but he still has one important and notable achievement left to mark: winning a trophy with them.
He would also love to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260 goals. Kane is currently at 213 in the competition and if he maintains his scoring rate of the past two years, he can expect to surpass Shearer towards the end of the 2024-25 season.
View from Germany: what if Kane rejects Bayern?
Analysis by German soccer correspondent Raphael Honigstein
After a series of meetings with Kane and his advisers, Bayern are convinced that the striker would be willing to move to Munich if a fee was agreed with Spurs.
Any late change of heart would be a source of embarrassment for new CEO Jan Dreesen, as well as honorary chairman Uli Hoeness and supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who have taken a more active role since the CEO’s removal. executive Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic in May.
If Kane chooses not to join them, Bayern’s need for a center forward will turn their attention to the French international. color randal of Eintracht Frankfurt. The Bundesliga full-back has indicated that he values the 24-year-old at €100m.
