Tottenham ‘will put ELEVEN first-team players up for sale this summer’

Tottenham Hotspur are planning a huge summer clear-out, which could see up to 11 first-team players leave the club.

Manager Ange Postecoglou is looking to build on last season’s fifth-placed finish, in which he secured Europa League football, and is now planning a massive overhaul in personnel.

He has said ‘change has to happen’, if the north London club are going to be able to compete across all fronts next season, including a top-four spot in the Premier League – and a return to the Champions League.

According to the Evening Standard, Spurs are willing to listen to offers for players who have fallen out of favour with Postecoglou – and those that still in favour, such as Richarlison.

The report states that the likes of current squad players Emerson Royal, Bryan Gil, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Giovani Lo Celso will all be made available this summer, when the window opens next month.

It’s believed returning loanees Joe Rodon, Djed Spence, Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele, and Japhet Tanganga are no longer part of the Australian manager’s plans, and will all be reportedly put up for sale.

Brazilian striker Richarlison, who had an industrious yet injury-hit season, recently squashed rumours he was listening to offers from other clubs as ‘fake news’, including those in Saudi Arabia.

Writing on his Instagram story, he said: ‘I left my vacation and came to work to come back better ahead of next season.

‘Regarding what’s been said in the media in the last few days, it’s fake news. I will NOT leave England ahead of next season.’

He followed it up by sharing pictures of his rehabilitation process, as he works to recover from a calf injury that ruled him out of Brazil’s Copa America squad. 

Earlier this month, Mail Sport revealed that Saudi league leaders Al-Hilal were keen to land the Tottenham forward this summer.

Mail Sport understands they made enquiries to Spurs over the Brazilian in January in the wake of Neymar‘s season-ending knee injury.

The club, one of the four backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund and fast closing in on the Pro League title, were privately confident they will secure a deal the 27-year-old.

However, given the Brazilian’s recent comments, it seems as though a move to the Saudi league may have to be put on hold. 

But it’s been suggested that the 27-year-old, who Spurs bought from Everton for £60million two years, could be available at the right price.

Reports also claim the club would also entertain suitable offers for the sidelined Manor Solomon, while Ryan Sessegnon will leave on a free, after another injury-hit campaign.
