Train Slices Amazon Delivery Truck In Half, Driver Unhurt

An Amtrak train sliced an Amazon delivery truck in half at a Wisconsin railroad crossing, and the van’s shocked driver said he can’t believe he made it out unhurt.

Alexander Evans’ vehicle was struck by the 80mph passenger train near Ixonia, west of Milwaukee, on Wednesday.

“Yeah, it just, boom,” Evans told WISN-12. (Watch the video above).

Evans, who is deaf in his left ear, said he didn’t hear the train’s horn as he approached the crossing, which has no warning lights or signals, according to WISN-12.

Finally, he realized the approaching danger.

“Literally it was like one long beep, horn from the train, and I put my foot on the gas, kind of like trying,” Evans recalled. “I don’t know how far I’m going to get away from him.”

Evans, a father of two kids whose 33rd birthday was the day of the crash, floored the accelerator. The cab of the vehicle made it across the tracks, but the rear didn’t.

The impact split the truck in half, with Evans safe in the front section and the rear demolished. No one on the train was injured, reported WKOW.
