Travel Restrictions Update for June 2023

The summer travel season is already in full swing for domestic and international travel. Travel volumes exceed pre-pandemic levels in certain destinations as travel restrictions are virtually non-existent worldwide. Here are more details on the June 2023 travel restrictions.

Travel restrictions in the United States

June is the first full month that the United States is fully open to international visitors. He vaccination mandate for international travel for non-US residents and permanent residents expired on May 11, 2023.

As of mid-May, the country no longer requires age-eligible international visitors to be fully vaccinated to enter the United States for tourism or visiting family. The United States is one of the last nations to remove this entry requirement. There are also no mandatory pre-arrival testing requirements.

Travel restrictions in Canada

There are no barriers to international travel between the United States and Canada. US citizens can visit Canada by air, land or sea without restrictions. Australia and New Zealand are open to tourism with no testing or vaccination requirements.

Most African countries are fully open for vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors. Popular tourist destinations like Egypt, Morocco, South Africa and Tanzania are free of restrictions. Several West and Central African countries continue to require pre-arrival testing for unvaccinated visitors.

This is an excellent month to travel as there are minimal travel restrictions. Also, countries with testing requirements continue to loosen them, making it even easier to visit.
