Travel to the United States is expected to rise sharply in 2024, increasing 15% over last year’s numbers, according to the International Trade Administration .
The 78 million tourists the ITA estimates will visit the U.S. from abroad in 2024 — 10 million more than in 2023 — are part of a worldwide rebound in international tourism after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ITA projects travel to the U.S. will surpass pre-pandemic levels in 2025. And the U.N. estimates that the summer Olympics in Paris will help global travel to surpass pre-pandemic levels this year, with a 2% increase over 2019 levels.
