Travels Arrive At Tulsa International Airport To View Total Solar Eclipse In Oklahoma

Tulsa International Airport has seen many travelers flying in for Monday’s eclipse.

The rental car line was consistently busy throughout the day as people prepared for totality.

News On 6 spoke with someone who flew in from Cancun, and another person who flew in from Germany.

Both said they were in San Antonio last year for the solar eclipse that reached 90 percent totality and that inspired them to come to Oklahoma to see it at 100 percent this year.

Frank Klische is from Munich, Germany, and flew about 5,000 miles to Tulsa to grab a rental car and make his way to Fort Smith, Arkansas, with his friend to see the solar eclipse.

Klische said he spent a few days in Los Angeles before flying to Tulsa.

He’s been planning to come to Tulsa for the first time for about a year.

“The eclipse it not happening often in your life, I think there are six in 10 years and they are worldwide and it’s a really unique possibility you won’t see daily,” Klische said.

Frank says flying to Tulsa was inexpensive, and so far he’s enjoyed the short time he’s spent in the airport.

He’s hoping for great weather on Monday to get the best view of the solar eclipse
