The National Hurricane Center says that Tropical Storm Emily formed in the Atlantic Ocean. According to the most recent advisory released by the NHC, Tropical Storm Emily is located about 1,105 miles west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands with sustained winds of 45 mph. Emily is traveling at about 9 mph heading west-northwest. The National Hurricane Center expects Tropical Storm Emily to remain a tropical storm before weakening to a post-tropical cyclone in the next few days. The storm is not expected to make landfall before the latest NHC forecast. Many other disturbances are being tracked in the Atlantic.
