Right-wing primetime host Tucker Carlson will leave Fox News immediately, the cable network announced Monday.
The announcement came days after the parent company of Fox News settled Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit for $787.5 million.
“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the company said in a statement Monday. “We thank you for your service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”
There will be no goodbye for Carlson, as his last show aired on Friday. Carlson had said goodbye on Friday indicating that he would return on Monday.
The company had no comment beyond the launch and whether Carlson was being taken off the air in response to the Dominion libel case.
