Tucker Carlson’s Lawyers Say Fox Breached Contract, Released From Non-Compete: Report

Tucker Carlsonthe accused lawyers foxnews of breach of contract and fraud in an aggressive letter sent to the network on Tuesday, alleging that the company’s actions release it from a non-compete clause, Axios reported.

The website said the letter, sent to Fox executives, alleges that high-level employees, including “Rupert Murdoch himself,” broke promises they made to the former primetime host “intentionally and with reckless disregard for the truth”.

Axios added that the letter, sent by attorney Bryan Freedman to Fox executives Viet Dinh and Irena Briganti, claims the network broke an agreement with Carlson not to leak his private messages to the media. A series of harmful texts emerged during and after the defamation trial filed by Dominion Voting Systems, which was allegedly heavily influential in his dismissal.

“These actions not only violated the covenant of good faith and fair dealing in the Settlement, but give rise to claims for breach of contract and willful and negligent misrepresentation,” the letter reads.

Freedman did not respond to a request for comment.

The letter was sent just before Carlson announced on Twitter that I would release a new version from his Fox News show about the social media giant, saying that Elon Musk’s company was the last company in the world that would allow him to speak. to do so would seem violate Carlson’s current contract with Fox even after he was fired. Contract Does not expire until January 2025, and Fox could continue to pay him to prevent him from launching his own company or working for a competitor.

“Starting soon we will be bringing to Twitter a new version of the show that we have been doing for the last six and a half years,” Carlson told his followers. “The best thing you can hope for in the news business right now is the freedom to tell the fullest truth you can. But there are always limits. And you know that if you hit those limits often enough, you’ll get fired for it. That’s not an assumption, it’s guaranteed.”

Musk said after the announcement that Twitter had not signed any kind of agreement with Carlson, though he added that any user could “interact, criticize and refute what is being said,” as opposed to the “one-way street of broadcasting.”

“Tucker is subject to the same rules and rewards as all content creators,” Musk said. “Rewards means subscriptions and ad revenue share (coming soon), which is a function of how many people subscribe and the ad views associated with the content.”

He extended that promise to “many others,” including those on the left.
