A couple and their son were found in a Bathinda lake on Friday morning. The woman and her son were pronounced dead when they were taken to Bathinda Civilian Hospital while the man is undergoing treatment.
Volunteers from an NGO, Sahara, pulled the trio out of the lake and admitted them to the hospital.
Surinder, who is 67, worked at a printing company and was facing financial and family problems, police said based on information from one of Surinder’s friends.
Police sources also revealed that Surinder had even made a goodbye call to one of his friends in the days leading up to this. However, the police have yet to determine the actual cause behind the incident.
The bodies of the woman and her 37-year-old son were sent for autopsy.
