A U.S. navy helicopter carrying 5 Marines that was as a result of land in California has gone lacking, authorities stated Wednesday. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Division advised CBS Information it deployed search-and-rescue items to search for the lacking Marine Corps helicopter.
The Tremendous Stallion helicopter was flying from Creech Air Power Base in Clark County, Nevada, to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego on Tuesday when it was reported overdue, the Marine Corps stated in a press release to CBS Information.
The California Division of Forestry and Fireplace Safety advised CBS Information it obtained a name at 2:20 a.m. that the helicopter was overdue.
Firefighters have been dispatched to a location east of San Diego within the space of the Cleveland Nationwide Forest, a spokesperson with the company’s San Diego workplace advised CBS Information. The world had rugged terrain and heavy snow was falling, the spokesperson stated. Nothing was discovered on the location.
