UK DIY company crashes into administration

A UK construction company has gone into administration after operating for over two decades. A notice in The Gazette states that Stonecrest Marble Limited, a DIY tile retailer, was appointed an administrator on March 26. Its administrators have been named as Constantinos Pedhiou and Amie Helen Johnson, both of BTG Begbies Traynor.

The business says it has “thousands of choices” of tiles, available in ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone options. It adds that it has the “best quality tiles, many that are exclusive only to Stonecrest.” The company has a warehouse based in Colchester where it stores its stock. It says it offers a next-day delivery service to meet clients’ demands.

One person who has reviewed the company on Google says: “Excellent condition, nice experience and also good quality.”

On its website, Stonecrest says: “Stonecrest, a small family run business has grown to be a big family made of those who share the same passion and vision for the industry.

“Our unique approach and excellence in customer service has now made us become one of the top choices for natural stone and tiles supplies in the UK.”

On Stonecrest’s social media pages, there are currently no announcements or statements about the administration.

Companies or limited liability partnerships can put themselves into administration if they are in debt and cannot pay the money they owe.

When in administration, the company is protected from legal action by people or organisations who are owed money (creditors) and nobody can apply to wind up the company during administration.

Administration can mean the company does not have to pay all its debts in full – but the company can still be wound up.

The Daily Express has contacted Stonecrest Marble Limited for a comment.
