UK golf club collapses into administration – 18-hole championship course

The owner and operator of a 35-year-old golf club with a championship course has entered administration. Forest Hill Golf Club was built in 1991 and is “nestled within 140 acres of beautiful Leicestershire countryside”, its website states.

It boasts a “magnificent 18 hole Championship Golf Course, a floodlit 20 bay cutting edge driving range with Trackman Range Technology, a 3 bay Golf Simulation Suite with further leisure facilities, an 18 hole Adventure Golf Course, a brand new fully equipped Gym and Studio, and a trendy lounge bar and restaurant”. The popular spot is located just 20 minutes from Leicester City centre. But insolvency practitioners from FRP Advisory have now confirmed FOREST HILL GOLF CLUB LTD, the company behind it, has entered Administration following an application made by a lender.

Simon Carvill-Biggs and John Lowe, both of FRP, were appointed as joint administrators on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Mr Carvill-Biggs said in due course the business will be “brought to the market and offered for sale”.

He stressed that presently the club “remains fully operational and trading under the control of the Administrators”.

He and Mr Lowe are being assisted in the day-to-day running of the firm by corporate turnaround specialists Licensed Solutions.

“The club has a floodlit 20 bay cutting edge driving range with Trackman Range Technology, a 3 bay Golf Simulation Suite (SimX) with further leisure facilities, an 18 hole Adventure Golf Course – Anaconda Falls – and lounge bar and restaurant offering a wide variety of food and drinks,” Mr Carvill-Biggs said.

“We continue to support the membership and look forward to welcoming new members and users of the facilities over the coming months.”

The club has a strong 4.5/5 score on Google based on 844 reviews, with one customer writing: “Loved today. A family round of adventure golf & then a lovely meal in the restaurant.

“Great service & nice menu. The pork belly was very good! We will visit again.”

Another five-star review read: “We had a good time playing the mini golf course. Staff were super friendly. Its a great spot to enjoy an hour’s fun.”

A third added: “We came across this place whilst travelling to my son’s cricket match. Afterwards, we decided to stop and have a Sunday roast. It was amazing. The service outstanding.”
