UK seaside town horror as teenager raped during night out

The police have launched an urgent appeal after a teenager was allegedly raped on a night out last weekend. The incident reportedly happened while out with friends in Brighton, East Sussex, and police were informed about it on Saturday, September 20.

Authorities are urging any witnesses who may have seen or spoken to the vicitim on Queen’s Road to come forward. They are looking to speak with two individuals, a woman, and an e-scooter rider, who were also in Brighton’s city centre. They believe that they checked on the victim’s welfare between Friday night and the early hours of Saturday.

Detective Inspector, Matt Stevens said: “This is a fast-moving and complex investigation. We are keen to trace people who may have interacted with the vicitm while she was in Brighton.

“We believe some members of the public stopped to check on her welfare in the centre of Brighton. We are keen to speak with them.

“We urge anyone with information to come forward.”

Sussex Police has confirmed the vicitim is a woman in her late teens. She cannot be identified for legal reasons.

The vicitim is receiving support from specially-trained officers.

Sussex Police said: “Police investigating a report of rape are appealing for further witnesses to come forward. The incident was reported to police on 20 September, after the vicitim had been on a night out with friends in Brighton. 

“Officers are keen to trace witnesses who may have seen or spoken to the vicitim in Queen’s Road in central Brighton late on Friday, 19 September into the early hours of 20 September.

“Information can be reported to Sussex Police online, or by calling 1010, and quoting serial 386 of 20/09”
