The war is now having a tangible impact on the everyday lives of Russians, notes La Repubblica:
“The swarms of Ukrainian drones are not crippling the Kremlin’s war machine. Generally speaking, the destructive power of these guided bombs is limited – between 10 and 25 kilograms of explosives – meaning they can only inflict serious damage on targets containing flammable materials: refineries, fuel depots, logistics warehouses filled with cardboard and plastic. The damage inflicted on mechanical or electronic factories is more limited, and hardly ever permanent. … The impact is mainly psychological: the war is now permeating life in Russian cities, from the Baltic to the Urals, and is set to spread even further.”
