Utility Stores Corp. jacks up rates of various products  | The Express Tribune


ISLAMABAD:

The Utility Stores Corporation has increased the prices of various brands of cooking oil, ghee, tea whiteners, baby milk, stationery items, shampoo and cold drinks. 

USC Managing Director Umar Lodhi said in a tweet that the price of subsidised ghee at Utility Stores has been increased by Rs30 per litre due to rise in palm oil prices in the international market. 

 Lodhi said that subsidised ghee will be available at Utility Stores at Rs200 per kg instead of Rs170 per kg. 
“Prices of other subsidised items like flour, sugar, rice and pulses will remain the same,” he said, adding that despite an increase of Rs30 per litre, subsidised ghee at utility stores is Rs40-50 cheaper than in the market. 

 According to the price list issued by the USC, the price of various brands of cooking oil was hiked by up to Rs45 per litre and ghee by up to Rs26 per kilo. 

 The prices of dry and infant milk were increased by up to Rs100 per litre, while that of tea whiteners by up to Rs32 per 600 grammes. 

 The price of one kilogramme of desi ghee has been increased by up to Rs197. 
The prices of different stationery items increased by up to Rs13, while that of shampoo up to Rs30 per bottle. 

 The rates of cold drinks were hiked by up to Rs15.
