Varun Sharma, who debuted in the movie ‘Fukrey’ as the famous character ‘Choocha’, recalled his journey in the industry when the movie ran for 10 years. The actor’s film career as a production runner for the impeccable character of Choocha is talking about. Varun was grateful for the experience, as it turned out to be a learning curve for him, broadening his horizons on the modus operandi of the film industry.
The actor shared, “I was studying at university in Chandigarh and joined a production company where I was a runner. Every experience counts. Being on a film set, you learn a lot. You realize that there are many people who are working for the same goal. and how teamwork is of the utmost importance. I’ve learned that if I do my part as an actor, show up on time, learn my lines, and be true to my craft, it makes other people’s lives so much easier.”
The actor holds his character of Choocha from ‘Fukrey’ close to his heart. ‘Fukrey’, which over the years has gained a cult following, returns with the third part of it on December 1, 2023.
The actor shared, “Choocha is indeed one of the most beloved characters in the franchise and it’s all thanks to the ‘Fukrey’ fans who made it possible for us to come back with a third installment. Being accepted by the audience is the biggest thing.” . achievement for any actor and Choocha gave me that. He gave me the love that I have today, and I think that everything I’ve achieved in my last 10 years is thanks to that character.”
A movie franchise always comes with monumental fan expectations for the next part, but the actor doesn’t feel the pressure. He said he shared, “There’s no pressure, but there’s this responsibility to my audience to deliver more than they expect and make them happy and content because they’ve given me so much and all I have today is thanks to Choocha and my fans.”
In a closing note, the actor said this is a great time for artists with broadcast, television, and theater to move forward in the content ecosystem. “It is a wonderful time to be a part of cinema. With films from the south attracting an audience from all over India, it has opened the doors for actors who want to be a part of cinema in all languages.
