Victorian coronavirus cases fall to 63, five new deaths

Victoria has recorded 63 new coronavirus cases on Sunday.

A further five deaths have also been reported in the past 24 hours.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews is expected to unveil the road map out of stage four lockdowns within hours.

However, authorities say the number of daily new cases is still too high to prompt a widespread easing of restrictions.

Victoria’s 14-day average sits around 100 new cases a day.

The state recorded 76 cases and 11 new deaths on Saturday.

Almost 300 people are in hospital with the virus, including 21 in intensive care.

Hundreds of anti-lockdown protesters took to Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance where police arrested at least 15 people.
