Video: Du Preez and Dolly hit early for Kaizer Chiefs

The Kaizer Chiefs returned to DStv Premiership action tonight when they hosted Stellenbosch FC at FNB Stadium.

The Glamor Boys wasted little to get going after Ashley Du Preez opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute.

Things went from bad to worse for the visitors after goalkeeper Sage Stephens received his marching orders for passing the ball outside the box.

Keagan Dolly then made the numbers advantage count a few minutes later to give the hosts a 2-0 lead after less than half an hour of play.

The score remained that way until the break. Follow the second half here.

We are the second best team – Zwane

“When things don’t go the way you want, people will always doubt the quality.” said the Kaizer Chiefs coach quoted by TimesLive.

“But I’ll say it again, when you look at the number of chances we’ve created this season, we’re probably second best after Mamelodi Sundowns.

“The only difference is that Sundowns made 80% of their chances and we only scored 30%.

“And when it comes to defending we have been very careless. When you look at all the goals we’ve conceded, it’s not like the teams have punished us.

“They punished us because we gave them the ball to punish us. It’s not that we’ve been outmatched or outmatched.”
