Vodacom mum or dad firm Vodafone and Microsoft signed a 10-year strategic partnership deal in a transfer for the operator to faucet deeper into generative AI, digital companies and cloud.
In a press release, Vodafone mentioned the deal will bolster every sector to spice up service for over 300 million companies, public sector organisations, and customers throughout Europe and Africa.
Vodafone detailed that Microsoft’s generative AI shall be used to reinforce customer support, hyperscale its managed IoT connectivity platform and develop new digital and monetary companies for companies, significantly SMEs throughout Europe and Africa. Lastly, it is going to overhaul its world knowledge centre cloud technique.
As a part of the deal, Vodafone will make investments US$1.5 billion over the subsequent decade in cloud and customer-focused AI companies developed in partnership with the American expertise big. Moreover, Micoaofrt will use Vodafone’s mounted and cellular connectivity companies.
Vodafone’s managed IoT connectivity platform will turn into a separate standalone enterprise by April 2024 and Microsoft will make investments an unspecified quantity in it.
