Wagner fighters in Belarus, say neighbors

Wagner Group forces have moved into Belarus, following a short-lived rebellion by Russian mercenaries against the Kremlin last month, according to Ukrainian and Polish officials.

Andriy Demchenko, a spokesman for Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, said in a Telegram post on Saturday that Wagner’s forces had been observed moving from Russia towards Belarus.

Poland’s deputy coordinating minister for special services, Stanislaw Zaryn, also said on Saturday that his latest intelligence suggested that Russian mercenaries had reached Belarus.

“The extent of the Wagner Group’s involvement on Belarusian soil remains unclear,” Zaryn said in a statement. video posted on twitter. “But one thing is certain: the Wagner Group will deploy to Belarus to fulfill a mission of some kind.”
