WATCH: Lionel Messi receives his SEVENTH Ballon d’Or!

PSG and Argentina superstar Lionel Messi won the 2021 Ballon d’Or trophy at a glittering ceremony in Paris on Monday.

This was a record-extending SEVENTH Ballon d’Or for the 34-year-old, and the honours were done by former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez on the night.

Messi first won this prestigious individual accolade in 2009, and this was followed by back-to-back victories in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

The Argentina captain was then crowned the best player in the world in 2015, 2019 and now in 2021.
