Weather Warnings

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Karoo Hoogland, Hantam municipalities over the Northern Cape as well as over the Central Karoo, Garden Route and the northern part of Cape Winelands in the Western Cape.

Special Weather Advisories

An intense cold front with an associated cut off low is expected over the western parts of the Northern and Western Cape from Wednesday morning until Friday. The public and small stock farmers are advised that snow over high lying areas are possible, strong to gale force coastal and interior winds, heavy rain, flooding, very cold conditions and rough seas can be expected.

Temperature: Fine and cool.

Temperature: Morning fog patches on the central and southern Highveld, otherwise fine and cool but warm in the Lowveld.

Temperature: Fine and cool

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Morning frost over the southern high ground and fog along the west coast where it will be cloudy and cool, otherwise fine and warm.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-easterly, becoming strong at times.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Morning fog along the west and adjacent interior of the south coast, otherwise fine and cool but warm over the north-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate northerly to north-easterly at first, but light to moderate westerly to north-westerly, otherwise light to moderate southerly to south easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate

Eastern Cape:

The Western half – Temperature: Fine and warm.

The Western Half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate northerly.

The Eastern half – Temperature: Fine and cool but warm south of the escarpment.

The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly becoming north easterly by noon.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning mist over the northern interior, otherwise fine and cool but warm in the north-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate northerly to north-easterly.
