India Weather Report Today, Monsoon Alert Live: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the average June rainfall for the country as a whole is most likely to be below normal, less than 92 per cent of the Long Period Average (LPA). The IMD has forecast scattered light rain over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan today and tomorrow. Similar weather will also be witnessed over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from June 19 to 23. The rains are expected due to a western disturbance.
Widespread rainfall is also likely over Northeast India during the next five days, the IMD forecast said.
Sikkim, which is reeling from heavy rainfall and consequent landslides, will continue to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall from June 19 to June 23. In the south as well, rainfall is likely over Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep; Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during the next five days.
Meanwhile, heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are likely to continue over parts of Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh and north Rajasthan today, the forecast said.
