Indian cricketer Sanju Samson is considered one of the unique talents of this generation of players. However, the goalkeeper’s batsman has yet to reach the immense potential of him, according to former Pakistani spinner Danish Kaneria.

Kaneria, who called himself a big ‘supporter’ of Samson, did not hesitate to criticize the player. “India rested Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli so they could give others a chance as many have complained that some players have not been given enough chances. Now that India has played them, when are you going to score runs, Sanju Samson? Kaneria said on his YouTube channel.

“He’s had enough chances. I was among the people who supported him and wanted him to have consistent opportunities. However, he has not made the most of these occasions,” he added.

The 28-year-old scored a half-century in the third ODI, prompting suggestions he might be peaking for the five-match T20I series later.

However, despite having chances in the first two T20Is, the Rajasthan Royals the patron could not take full advantage of them. He failed to cross the 15-run mark both times. In the third T20I on Tuesday he didn’t get to hit.

However, there have been extenuating circumstances. He has been used in a different role than he is used to in the Indian Premier League for his franchise. He bats at the top of the order in the IPL. But in this series, he has been employed as a finisher.
