A Twitter user shared images of Deepika wearing the same clothes at funerals and compared them to images on the auction website. One of the pictures was of a short kurti worn by Deepika at Jiah Khan’s funeral, which she auctioned off for Rs. 8000.
In addition, Deepika auctioned off the outfit she had worn at the funeral of Priyanka ChopraAshok Chopra’s father.
One Twitter user called out the actress, writing: “I’m so shocked…my favorite Deepika Padukone has auctioned off her non-couture clothes from 2013…I repeat 2013 she wore to different funeral events. Cheap shot.”
After her tweet, several people took to the comments section to react. One user wrote: “Don’t justify this by telling me he’s doing it for charity. needy or his household help. (sic)”
Another user commented: “Clothes you wear to a funeral should be thrown away or kept for funerals only. Also, we don’t wear clothes from people who aren’t related, heck! We don’t even wear used clothes within the family. (sic)” A third user commented: “You have shown us reality… this was sorely needed. (sic)”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika is currently filming ‘Fighter’. In the movie, she will share the screen with Hrithik Roshan. She is also working on Project K with Prabhas. She also has a new version of ‘The Intern’ with amitabh bachchan.
