White House Tells Rep. Lauren Boebert: ‘Anti-Semitism Is Not Conservative, It’s Evil’

Many Twitter users chided Boebert, noting that his comments suggested bigotry was a big part of the conservative mindset.

On Friday, White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates also criticized Boebert’s tweets in a statement to HuffPost.

“Congresswoman Boebert is wrong; anti-Semitism is not ‘conservative,’ it is evil,” Bates said. “President Biden upholds a fundamental American value that goes beyond politics and is embraced by liberals, conservatives, and independents: that we are better than anti-Semitism and hate. These vile forces go against what America stands for.”

Bates said that anyone who “finds opposition to threatening hate” needs to “look inward.”

He also suggested Boebert Google the long and repulsive history of anti-Semitism in the Soviet Union.

“She could find a result for Joe Biden, who at the time denounced anti-Semitic acts by Soviet communists as ‘disgraceful,’” Bates said.

HuffPost reached out to Boebert’s office for comment, but no one immediately responded.

However, to be fair, he’s had a busy week.
