Why Imran not taken to task yet, asks Maryam

LAHORE    –   Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Saturday expressed commitment to take the issue of audio leaks and cipher to its logical conclusion as it has raised questions on the prestige and honour of country.

Addressing a news conference along with other senior party leaders in Lahore on Saturday, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that Imran Khan’s divisive and filthy narrative has been exposed in a recent audio leak and cipher is not a conspiracy.

Terming cipher as a secret document and the property of Prime Minister Office, he said that PTI Chief is responsible for this serious security breach. Express

ing displeasure over the poor performance of PTI in last four years, Ishaq Dar lamented that all the macroeconomic indicators of Pakistan showed desperate performance and country ranked as below to 50th economy worldwide in 2034.

He further pledged to steer the country out of the mammoth challenges as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is making his best efforts to tackle the challenges in an effective manner. He said that due to the prudent steps taken by the coalition government, appreciation of rupee is being witnessed against dollar. Resultantly, a significant reduction of country’s loan has been observed.

Ishaq Dar expressed the resolve to provide maximum relief to the general public in coming weeks. Speaking on the occasion, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N will never compromise on the issue of national security.

She said PTI Chief Imran Khan committed forgery with the sensitive document and he should apologise to the nation. She said that Imran Khan tarnished the image of country in the world and ruined the diplomatic ties with other states.

Maryam Nawaz said PTI Chief received billions of rupees from anti state elements under the banner of foreign funding. She further said that former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will come to Pakistan and lead the party.

Responding to a question, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar warned that strict action will be taken against the elements involved deliberately in the depreciation of rupee.

To a question over the cipher issue, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that federal cabinet has decided to raise the issue of audio leaks in the Parliament and action will be taken against PTI Chief after discussion in the Parliament. Sanaullah said that he hopes that the Parliament registers a case against him under Article 6.

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarrar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Pervez Rashid were also present on this occasion.

‘IMRAN PLAYED HAVOC WITH PAKISTAN’

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz also said that audio-leak regarding cipher exposed the real face of Imran Khan and proved that he played havoc with the Pakistan’s Constitution, security, diplomatic and foreign relations, and democratic system.

“You conspired against the martyrs, destroyed the country for your own interests and spoiled diplomatic relations,” she said while taking a jibe at the former prime minister. She added that the PTI chief’s Bani Gala residence should be raided to recover the cipher.

Maryam Nawaz said though she did not want to utter Imran Khan’s name, she had to expose his real face and lies before people, adding that many audios had earlier come forth against PML-N’s leadership, but there was no such audio in which the PML-N leaders had ever talked against Pakistan.

Of course, she said, there had been a conspiracy against Pakistan, and it was not by the PML-N, PPP or any other party of the PDM (Pakistan Democratic Movement), the establishment and any foreign power, but by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. PTI leaders — Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Asad Umar, and Azam Khan, the then prime minister’s principal secretary, were involved in the cipher conspiracy, she added.

During the Nawaz Sharif’s tenure, she recalled, there had been discussions and policy formulations for development of the country and people’s prosperity in the Prime Minister’s House, but Imran Khan, while sitting in the PM House, hatched a conspiracy against the country.

The PML-N vice president said that the PTI leaders also tampered with the national record. She alleged that the party had a mindset which wanted to destabilise the country. In the cipher audio-leak, Imran Khan says: “We have to play on it”, which showed the mindset of Imran Khan. Today, no Pak diplomat in any country was ready to send ciphers to Pakistan, she regretted, demanding that Imran Khan must tender apology to the Pakistani nation.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar Saturday revealed that Principal Secretary Azam Khan has admitted that he gave the diplomatic cipher to PTI chief Imran Khan. Accusing the PTI for the missing cipher, Dar said: “The cipher is missing from the archives and the audio leaks have laid bare their plan.”

Addressing the press conference in Lahore, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz hoped that now the youth of Pakistan would ask Imran Khan about cipher and other such audios, asserting that on one hand, Imran Khan had instigated the public against America while on the other hand he, during indoor meetings, said that no one should name any country.

Pakistan saw many elected prime ministers and dictators but none of them had been blamed as traitor and this ignominy came only in Imran Khan’s credit. Referring to Nawaz Sharif, she said that the person, who remained prime minister thrice, also had many secrets of the country and he also had faced severe threats as well as US $ 05 billion offer when Pakistan had been going for nuclear explosions, and despite all odds, he never compromised on Pakistan security and sovereignty, and that was the real ‘Absolutely Not’. In his conspiracy under lust for power, Imran Khan did not spare even the army martyrs and launched a malicious campaign against the national institutions, she said and added that Imran Khan said that Mr. XYZ had conspired against him but the time had proved that he himself was Mr. XYZ, Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq.

She said that she was complained of her government that Imran Khan breached the Constitution and brought bad name to Pakistan was still free and had yet not been taken to task. She suggested the government to raid Imran Khan’s house in Bani Gala and recover the cipher and other secret official documents, which were stolen from the PM House.
