When you buy a EuroMillions ticket in the UK, a unique eight-digit code is printed on your ticket or generated in your online account.
Alongside the main EuroMillions numbers, a computer-generated system selects one or more of these codes at random from the pool of all UK entries.
If your code matches one of the drawn raffle codes exactly, you win £1 million. This is entirely separate from whether or not your main EuroMillions numbers win anything.
