The chances of scooping the Powerball jackpot are around one in 292.2million, making it considerably harder to win than some other major lottery jackpots – but the potential prize is also much bigger.
Tonight, a staggering £444million is up for grabs, compared with the smaller jackpots typically offered by EuroMillions and the UK Lotto.
The odds of winning the EuroMillions jackpot are around one in 139.8million, meaning a player is more than twice as likely to hit the EuroMillions jackpot as Powerball.
Meanwhile, the odds of matching all six numbers to win the UK Lotto jackpot are around one in 45million – more than six times better than the odds of scooping Powerball.
However, the overall chances of winning any Powerball prize are much better, at around one in 14.
