A man has admitted to filming himself and “unknown men” carry out dozens of sex attacks on his “drugged and stupefied” partner. The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to 32 charges at court on Tuesday. The man had used his mobile phone to record attacks which took place over a period of 11 years.
The 11 years has been described in court as a “sustained campaign of abuse” against the woman between 2014 and 2025 when he was arrested. The prosecution says all the attacks were carried out during a time where the partner was drugged, with various objects used in the sex attacks. Writing on her body was also reported in court.
The offender cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim. Judge David Herbert KC warned him he faced a substantial prison sentence, including a life term, when he is sentenced, the Daily Mail reported. Sentencing is set to take place in September.
Judge Herbert said: “Be under no illusions as to the length of sentence in this case.” Among the charges are 10 counts of assault by penetration, eight counts of rape, and four counts of sexual assault. There are also four counts of rape, four counts of assault by penetration and two counts of sexual assault on the victim which included “a person unknown”. Some of these counts relate to multiple incidents.
The court heard the prosecution’s case that the victim was drugged during these attacks. The defence has suggested she was asleep on some occassions.
Prosecutor Alexandra Felix KC told the court: “All of these offences were committed while the victim had been drugged and stupefied.” Nathalie Carter, in mitigation, said the man claims his partner was asleep during some of the attacks.
Carter said her client “has made it clear from the very beginning he did not want to contest any matters” and that they want to “let it rest.”
Andrew Hopkinson, district crown prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service East Midlands, said: “This was a sustained campaign of abuse and the victim has shown great courage throughout this process.
“We worked closely with Northamptonshire Police to build a thorough and compelling case that resulted in him pleading guilty to dozens of offences.”
Nigel Leary, deputy director of the NCA said: “The scale of what we have seen so far has left us deeply concerned.”
