WSL club Reading land Northern Ireland duo Jackie Burns and Lauren Wade

Women’s Super League club Reading have snapped up two of Northern Ireland’s Euro stars.

oalkeeper Jacqueline Burns and forward Lauren Wade has signed for the Berkshire club, who finished eighth in last season’s English top-flight.

Burns, 25, was one of Northern Ireland’s best performers at Euro 2022, making several key saves in the games against Norway, Austria and Southampton.

Burns started her career at Mid-Ulster Ladies before enjoying spells at IBV in Iceland and Glentoran. Her last club was Swedish outfit Häcken.

Wade, 28, will join the Royals from Glentoran. The Northern Ireland international started her career at her hometown club Coleraine but has since turned out for American college side Carson-Newman Eagles, Swedish outfit Umeå IK and Scotland’s Glasgow City.

The Royals are managed by Kelly Chambers.
