Young girl among three killed in separate Victorian vehicle accidents

A six-year-old girl is among three people who were killed on Saturday in three separate driving-related accidents across Victoria.

The young girl was riding in a buggy with six other children and an adult driver when it rolled in a paddock in Rosedale in the state’s east about 4pm yesterday.

The girl was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but sadly died.

A four-year-old girl, who was also in the buggy at the time, was flown to hospital with a serious head injury. She has improved to a stable condition.

All seven children who were in the buggy, which was designed to seat four people, were under 10 and the youngest was just two.

The other five children in the buggy were uninjured.

The buggy driver, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to Latrobe Regional Hospital with an arm injury.

In a separate incident, a man was killed in Eldorado in the state’s north-east when he was hit by a ute about 10.45pm yesterday.

Police said five people were travelling in the ute when they stopped and got out on Lonies Gap Road near Mulls Track.

They said an 18-year-old man got back in the ute and started to drive before the vehicle rolled, crushing one of the men.

Police alleged the driver ran from the scene but was found nearby by officers.

Police say all occupants of the ute are helping police with their investigation into the death.

Meanwhile, a 38-year-old Warburton motorcyclist died following a crash at Yellingbo, east of Melbourne.

The man’s body was found at side of Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road about 12.30am.
