Youngest son of arrested PTI leader Ibad Farooq breathes his last

LAHORE: Ammar, son of arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket holder Ibad Farooq, has died, ARY News reported.

According to details, PTI leader Ibad Farooq is detained in connection with the May 9 violence.

Ibad Farooq’s brother said Ammar was mentally ill. Seven-year-old Ammar died today and his funeral will be held tonight.

Previously, in an alleged audio message addressed to party activists, the arrested PTI Ticket Holder Ibad Farooq He claimed that he arrived at the Corps Commander House Lahore along with party leader Yasmeen Rashid, Ijaz Chaudhry and Mahmood ur Rasheed.

“We received clear instructions from Yasmin Rashid to burn down the Corps Commander’s House,” Ibad Farooq said, adding that Ijaz Chaudhry also gave instructions not to stop until the release of the PTI chairman.

Violent clashes broke out across Pakistan after the former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief was arrested in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday.

Protests took place in major and remote cities as party workers were agitated due to the arrest of their president, and Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad called in the armed forces to ensure law and order.

Army premises and the corps commander’s house in Lahore were attacked during a protest by PTI workers.

It is pertinent to mention here that PTI Chairman Khan was arrested from his Lahore residence on August 5 after he was given a five-year disqualification and three-year imprisonment in the toshakhana criminal case.
